Backups of your account is best accomplished by using the "Backup Wizard" inside of your cPanel Tools panel. Once you log into your account click on Tools, then go to the Files section and find the "Backup Wizard" icon. Once you click on the icon you will see a page with both Backup and Restore and you would click on which ever you need to do. If you choose backup your site will be backed up to a file in your account and you should download the file to your local workstation in case you need to restore your site from a backup. If you choose restore, you can either upload a backed up file or just restore a file that is still located in your account.
